Encino is an affluent, older-aged, well-educated, low-density neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California, with a relatively high proportion of white residents, compared with the city at large. It has a high ratio of military veterans.
Encino has three public and eight private schools, including two private high schools, and the community has been the home of many notable people. It hosts Los Angeles's largest Earth Day festival,
Encino includes the Los Encinos State Historic Park and the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area, which features athletic fields and other recreation facilities. Elsewhere there is a sports complex and a dog park.
